NEUROPATHIC PAIN

Neuropathic pain is often described as a shooting or burning pain associated with nerve damage. It may be caused by diabetes, shingles, genetic diseases, chemotherapy and nerve compression.

Treatments for Neuropathic Pain Include:

COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition that often affects limbs after an injury. CRPS is one of Progressive Pain & Interventional Progressive Psychiatry’s specialties. We understand that CRPS can be caused by damage to the peripheral and central nervous systems. CRPS is divided into two types; type 1 and type 2. The symptoms for both are the same however; and include pain, swelling of the limb, sensitivity in the affected limb, changes in skin color, temperature changes, and others.

Treatments for CRPS include:

CENTRAL SENSITIZATION

Central sensitization is a condition of the nervous system that is associated with the development and maintenance of chronic pain. This includes Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain, TMJ, Interstitial Cystitis (IC), chronic pelvic pain, migraines, tension headaches, PTSD, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity(MCS). When central sensitization occurs, the nervous system goes through a process called wind-up and gets regulated in a persistent state of high reactivity. This persistent, or regulated, state of reactivity lowers the threshold for what causes pain and subsequently comes to maintain pain even after the initial injury has healed.

Treatments for Central Sensitization Include:

POSTHERPETIC NEURALGIA

Postherpetic Neuralgia is nerve pain caused by damage inflicted by the varicella zoster virus. Generally, the neuralgia is restricted to a dermatomic area of the skin and follows an outbreak of shingles (also known as herpes zoster), in the same dermatomic area.

Treatments for Cervical radicular pain include:
