What are your pain treatment options?

We treat all types of pain. After a thorough examination, your doctor will recommend the pain treatment option that he or she believes will best treat your pain condition. Please view our list of traditional, as well as cutting-edge procedures, we offer to our patients.

Do I need to get a copy of my medical records? How do I do that?

Your new patient intake form which includes a release of medical information form. Once filled out we will obtain all necessary medical records according to your specifications in the form.

What is your cancellation policy?

You are able to cancel up to 24 prior to your appointment. If you cancel during that 24 window you will be subject to a $400 rescheduling fee. Reminder calls are made 48 priors to your scheduled appointment.

What precautions should I take if I’m going to be sedated?

  1. Do NOT consume any food, hard candy, liquids, etc. for 8 hours prior to the scheduled procedure time.
  2. You MUST have a responsible driver who is at least 18 years of age. The driver does not have to stay for the entire length of the procedure. The total time from when you walk into the clinic until you leave the recovery room is approximately 1 hour depending on the procedure being performed.
  3. DO refrain from smoking for 8 hours prior to the scheduled procedure time.
What can I expect after my appointment?

All treatments done at Progressive Pain and Interventional Psychiatry are outpatient procedures. You will leave that day. Due to the local anesthetic that is used, it is common for patients to experience weakness and or numbness in the treated areas for a few hours after the procedure. Within the first 24 hours of your procedure, you may experience an increase in your pain due to inflammation from any steroid that is used. This will subside in a short time and can usually be controlled with anti-inflammatories and ice.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call us immediately:

  • High fever (101° F or greater)
  • Severe positional headache that is not improved with fluids, rest, caffeine, etc.
  • Loss of bladder or bowel control
How early should I arrive?

The receptionist will call the day before to confirm your appointment and give you the arrival time. You can adjust your arrival time on the day of appointment as well.

What can I expect the day of my appointment?

You will be required to check in the receptionist will call the day before to confirm your appointment and give you the arrival time. All copays, coinsurance, and deductible payments are due at the time of service. If you need to cancel or reschedule your procedure please notify us within 24 hours of your scheduled time to avoid any rescheduling fees. We also ask that you bring a list of your current medications, allergies, and medical conditions with you on your procedure day. We also ask that our patients wear loose fitting clothes to their procedure.

What Insurance do you accept?

If you intend to use insurance to pay for your appointment please contact someone on our staff. They will help determine if our treatments are covered and what you will be responsible for paying at the time of service.

Do I need a referral?

The new patient coordinator will work with you to obtain any referrals if needed.

What info do I need to file a worker’s compensation claim?

Worker’s compensation patient and patients working with a lawyer need to have the appropriate information at the time of their appointment including case number, law firm information, address and contact number for claims, etc.

Is payment required at time of service? How much of the payment?

All copay, coinsurance, and deductibles are due at the time of service. We accept all credit cards and cash. If you are unable to pay, your appointment will be rescheduled and may be subject to a rescheduling fee.
